How To Heal Your Story: The Emotional Aspects of Lyme

with Connie Strasheim

Author of Beyond Lyme Disease
Lyme stories are sad with a recurring theme of loss. Today we will explore why telling that story over and over reaffirms the self-identity of illness. But what if we could let that story go and consider how Lyme Disease has actually helped to transform us into a better version of ourselves? Connie Strasheim shows us how to re-write our story of loss into a story of hidden gifts.

Connie Strasheim is a medical writer who has experienced the hardships of chronic illness firsthand through her decade-long battle with Lyme disease and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Through her research and experience, she has learned that attaining wellness isn’t just about eliminating some infections or balancing the hormones; it’s about addressing all of the factors that caused the body to break down in the first place, including the environmental, psycho-emotional, lifestyle and spiritual issues that cause or contribute to disease in the body, mind and spirit.

She is the author of five books on holistic wellness, including the bestselling Insights Into Lyme Disease Treatment: Thirteen Lyme-Literate Health Care Practitioners Share Their Healing Strategies (2009), the recently released, Beyond Lyme Disease: Healing The Underlying Causes of Chronic Illness in People with Borreliosis and Co-Infections (2012) and Defeat Cancer: 15 Doctors of Integrative and Naturopathic Medicine Tell You How (2010). Currently, she is working on a series of short wellness books with Lee Cowden, MD, and is editor and physician podcast interviewer for the Alternative Cancer Research Institute.

Connie has a passion for seeing people overcome disease, and also has a healing prayer ministry for people with Lyme disease and chronic illness.
